Ik ben nu eigenlijk wel nieuwsgierig geworden naar die vorige definitie.

In 2005 heeft de IFOAM, de internationale koepelorganisatie voor biologische landbouw, de principes van zorg, ecologie, gezondheid en billijkheid als basis voor de biologische landbouw vastgesteld. Op de ledenvergadering die van 21 tot 24 juni in de buurt van het Italiaanse Modena gehouden werd is ook een nieuwe defenitie voor de biologisch landbouw vastgesteld (nog niet in een officiele vertaling beschikbaar):
"Organic farming is a production system that sustains the health of soils, ecosystems and people. It relies on ecological processes, biodiversity and cycles adapted to local conditions, rather than the use of inputs with adverse effects. Organic Agriculture combinestradition, innovation and science to benefit the shared environment and promote fair relationships and a good quality of life for all involved."
